Josie has let us into her lockdown list of learnings during this forced pause we all have had to take.
Now businesses are starting to open back up again, I have come to realise during this forced pause we’ve been living through. I have got to know myself a little more!
During lockdown I have had opportunity to reflect on small things, here is my lockdown gratitude/ appreciation list, which is forever growing:
- Receiving a card and/or token in the post from a friend is a wonderful thing to brighten my day, and there’s something nice about planning a surprise for someone else too.
- I love to reread and re-watch my favourite books and TV series’, I understand this is particularly something that people with anxiety do as they know what to expect. The general uncertainty in the world has made me lean back on my old favourites.
- Being outdoors and/or around animals makes me happy. I need to schedule time in my calendar to allow time like this, as it’s so important to my well-being.
- My boyfriend is an excellent cook.
- Yoga is always going to be there for me, even after time away. Come back to the mat; it won’t judge you.
- I always thought I dressed for myself, but I clearly dress for others, having spent the last 15 weeks in lounge-wear or active-wear!
I invite you to close your eyes, take 5 deep breaths, visualise that feeling of contentment and notice where your mind takes you. Think about what you have learnt about yourself during lockdown? and maybe write your own list.
